Estructuras portuarias, ciudades que fueron devoradas por las aguas, o barcos hundidos constituyen evidencias arqueol\u00f3gicas de gran inter\u00e9s para comprender la conexi\u00f3n entre oc\u00e9anos y sociedades humanas durante milenios.\n<br>\n<br>\n<br>\n<br>\nLa arqueolog\u00eda mar\u00edtima y subacu\u00e1tica es una disciplina cient\u00edfica que consiste en registrar, interpretar, recuperar, proteger y difundir ese patrimonio hist\u00f3rico-arqueol\u00f3gico sumergido o conectado con zonas costeras e intermareales. Los pecios Ribadeo I (Galicia, Espa\u00f1a) y <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 18pt; font-family: Calibri;\">Mortella<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 18pt; font-family: Calibri;\"> II y III (C\u00f3rcega, Francia), tienen como denominador com\u00fan su pertenencia a la tradici\u00f3n constructiva mediterr\u00e1nea y a la historia de Espa\u00f1a. Analizados en su conjunto se identific\u00f3 la presencia de un pecio de madera de origen al\u00f3ctona, anterior al siglo XVIII.\n<br>\n<br>\nLas primeras prospecciones de buceo determinaron una cronolog\u00eda del siglo XVI y la hip\u00f3tesis de que se tratara de un buque al servicio de la Monarqu\u00eda Hisp\u00e1nica en el momento de su naufragio.\n<br>\n<br>\nLa extensi\u00f3n del yacimiento se corresponde con una eslora de unos 32m y una manga aproximada de Durante la campa\u00f1a de Junio de 2015, codirigida por el Prof. Nigel Nayling (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwtsd.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">University of Wales Trinity Saint David &#8211; UWTSD<\/a>), en paralelo a comprobar el estado del pecio y afianzar las medidas tomadas para su conservaci\u00f3n, se tomaron muestras de madera para incorporarlas al estudio que se estaba realizando con otros pecios gallegos, dentro del proyecto ForSEAdiscovery. Calibri;\">Gracias a las campa\u00f1as de excavaci\u00f3n, se ha podido avanzar en el conocimiento de la construcci\u00f3n naval de la \u00e9poca, sobre todo en naves tan excepcionales como la aqu\u00ed estudiada.\n\n\nEl gran n\u00famero de artefactos localizados, adem\u00e1s de la masiva estructura de madera que todav\u00eda permanece en conexi\u00f3n, hacen del buque que yace en el yacimiento subacu\u00e1tico de Ribadeo, el gale\u00f3n m\u00e1s grande localizado hasta el momento en aguas territoriales espa\u00f1olas, descrito por la investigadora Ana Crespo Solana, como &#8220;de singular trascendencia en el mundo cient\u00edfico (\u2026) constituye un caso de primera importancia cient\u00edfica internacional adem\u00e1s de un exponente muy valioso en el marco del Calibri;\">Durante la excavaci\u00f3n arqueol\u00f3gica se realiz\u00f3 un levantamiento fotogram\u00e9trico del pecio. Tambi\u00e9n se documentaron todos los elementos que constituyen el barco.\n<br>\n<br>\n\nEste escrupuloso sistema de documentaci\u00f3n, junto con los croquis desarrollados por los investigadores que participaron en la excacavaci\u00f3n, permite la posterior interpretaci\u00f3n de los restos y la reconstrucci\u00f3n ideal del nav\u00edo.\n\n\nLos dibujos expuestos se realizaron gracias a notas tomadas in situ por el profesor Filipe Castro (<a style=\"color: black;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.unl.pt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Universidade Nova de Lisboa<\/a>), autor de una gran base de datos sobre Arqueolog\u00eda N\u00e1utica, que cuenta con una menci\u00f3n especial al <a  style=\"color: black;\" Calibri;\">La dendrocronolog\u00eda es la disciplina cient\u00edfica que estudia los cambios ambientales registrados en los anillos de crecimiento anual de los \u00e1rboles.\n\n<br>\n<br>\nLos pecios son el objeto de estudio m\u00e1s complejo para el an\u00e1lisis dendrocronol\u00f3gico, dado que los barcos pod\u00edan construirse con madera de distintas procedencias y repararse despu\u00e9s en diferentes astilleros. Por ello, el \u00e9xito de la dataci\u00f3n dendrocronol\u00f3gica suele estar estrechamente ligado al n\u00famero de muestras adecuadas que se tomen para el an\u00e1lisis.\n\n<br>\n<br>\nEntre las campa\u00f1as de 2012-2015 se tomaron 30 <a href=\"https:\/\/archaeologydataservice.ac.uk\/archives\/view\/forseadiscovery_2018\/downloads.cfm?archive=documents\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">muestras de madera<\/a> del pecio de Ribadeo. Sobre ellas, se realiz\u00f3 una inspecci\u00f3n preliminar para determinar la idoneidad de las muestras para la dataci\u00f3n dendrocronol\u00f3gica. Lo ideal es que las muestras contengan m\u00e1s de 80 a 100 anillos para obtener resultados estad\u00edsticamente s\u00f3lidos; sin embargo, dados los objetivos del proyecto ForSEAdiscovery, que incluyen la caracterizaci\u00f3n de los \u00e1rboles utilizados durante la Edad Moderna temprana para la construcci\u00f3n naval, excepcionalmente podr\u00edan seleccionarse muestras con tan s\u00f3lo 30 anillos para el an\u00e1lisis de los anillos de los \u00e1rboles con el fin de adquirir datos emp\u00edricos relativos a las tasas de crecimiento de los \u00e1rboles utilizados para elementos espec\u00edficos de los barcos.\n<br>\n<br>\nA partir de la inspecci\u00f3n visual, se pudo determinar que mayoritariamente la madera utilizada en el gale\u00f3n era de roble, aunque tambi\u00e9n hab\u00eda muestras de pino. Tomando las muestras de roble de ambas campa\u00f1as, destacaba la falta de coincidencia interna entre ellas, lo que\u00a0 indica que la madera proced\u00eda de zonas diferentes en las que la variabilidad del crecimiento in situ es muy alta. Adem\u00e1s, no debe excluirse la posibilidad de que algunas maderas representen reparaciones. A pesar de ello se pudo concretar en el Sur de Italia el origen de las maderas que componen el nav\u00edo.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element bordo del gale\u00f3n, como por ejemplo diversos contenedores cer\u00e1micos, metales, objetos personales como peines o diversas piedras que hac\u00edan funciones diversas\n<br>\n<br>\nTambi\u00e9n es muy interesante la informaci\u00f3n aportada por los <a href=\"https:\/\/digital.csic.es\/handle\/10261\/295739\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">restos \u00f3seos de animales<\/a> que formaron parte de la dieta de la tripulaci\u00f3n.\n<br>\n<br>\nTodos los restos han sido estudiados por la investigadora Marta Moreno Garc\u00eda, directora del <a href=\"https:\/\/ih.csic.eses\/research-lab\/laboratorios-id-arqueologia-laboratorio-arqueobiologia-arqbio\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">laboratorio de Arqueozoolog\u00eda del Instituto de Calibri;\">A partir de los restos materiales localizados en la excavaci\u00f3n del pecio es posible reconstruir la vida cotidiana a bordo del gale\u00f3n. La primera evidencia que se extrae, es que era un buque con una clara misi\u00f3n militar, dado que la cer\u00e1mica localizada tiene una clara funci\u00f3n de almacenamiento de v\u00edveres y uso dom\u00e9stico. No se localizan objetos de gran valor, aunque no debemos olvidar que el barco fue rescatado, y por lo tanto, los objetos mas valiosos pudieron haber sido recuperados entonces.\n<br>\n<br>\nPor otro lado, mediante los <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mdpi.com\/2571-9408\/6\/2\/111\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">an\u00e1lisis arqueom\u00e9tricos<\/a> realizados (termoluminiscencia y espectroscop\u00eda entre otros), nos permiten comprender que las cer\u00e1micas tienen distintas procedencias, por lo que muy probablemente subieron a bordo a lo largo de las distintas escalas del viaje del gale\u00f3n entre N\u00e1poles y Lisboa. Analizando su morfolog\u00eda, al menos el 9,7% de las cer\u00e1micas identificables son andalus\u00edes.\n\n<br>\n<br>\nLas funciones de las cer\u00e1micas son dif\u00edciles de conocer. Estamos seguros de que las tinajas transportaban aceite de oliva, y posiblemente otros alimentos, mientras que las tazas se utilizaban con toda seguridad para beber agua. Las ollas por su parte, parecen tener una funci\u00f3n directamente relacionada con el almacenamiento; este tipo de objetos se utilizaban en tierra sobre todo para\ncocinar, pero tienen una forma que permite apilarlas unas encima de otras, atadas con cuerdas para evitar roturas. Aunque los sacos de tela y los barriles de madera ser\u00edan el principal m\u00e9todo de almacenamiento para la harina o los cereales, algunos alimentos estar\u00edan mejor protegidos dentro de tinajas de cer\u00e1mica teniendo en cuenta la existencia de insectos, humedad y otras razones por las que los alimentos pod\u00edan estropearse.\n<br>\n<br>\n\nLa documentaci\u00f3n escrita nos aporta tambi\u00e9n valiosa informaci\u00f3n sobre los v\u00edveres que se llevaban a bordo. A la salida de Lisboa, en octubre de 1597, se redact\u00f3 un documento donde se registraba en toneladas los v\u00edveres m\u00e1s importantes que se hab\u00edan cargado a bordo: vino, tocino ahumado, pescado, aceite de oliva, vinagre, arroz, garbanzos, habas, trigo, harina, cebada, sal y pimienta eran las principales fuentes de alimentaci\u00f3n a bordo de los barcos de las armadas ib\u00e9ricas.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-33 elementor-top-column elementor-element
