Application of Dendrochronology to Underwater Archaeology

Drawing on a range of recent underwater  and  intertidal archaeology projects,  the role of dendrochronology as an essential tool in the analysis of submerged landscapes and shipwreck sites is examined. The use of appropriate sampling strategies, to ensure that ophisticated questions which go beyond dating alone, is advocated and the potential of such approaches demonstrated.
